What RapidDox Does

RapidDox reads your BI files directly and extracts every piece of metadata — data source connections, calculated fields, DAX measures, parameters, relationships, and more — then generates structured professional documentation without any manual effort.

For the reasoning behind this approach, see why manual BI documentation fails and what automation actually fixes.

How It Works

RapidDox is installed locally on your Windows or macOS desktop. Open a BI file in the app, choose an output format, and click Generate. No Tableau Server/Cloud connection, no Power BI Service access, and no internet required to process files — only to validate your licence.

Licence validation requires internet
RapidDox contacts app.rapidlens.com on startup to validate your licence. Your network administrator may need to whitelist app.rapidlens.com if outbound traffic is restricted.
