Output & Customisation

RapidDox runs a different customisation wizard depending on the file you open. Pick your file type below to see the matching step-by-step walkthrough.

You can generate documentation straight away — or choose to customise it depending on your needs. Customisation lets you control which sections are included, in what order, with what column choices, and with what header/footer styling. The flow differs by file type — there are three separate walkthroughs, one for each supported file group.

Pick your customisation flow

File typesWizardWalkthrough
.twb .twbx .tds .tdsx6 steps — background, object selection, images, sorting, sections & columns, export.Customise — Tableau Workbook & Data Source
.tfl .tflx3 steps — background, layout options, export.Customise — Tableau Prep
.pbix .pbit4 steps — background, page images, sections (General / Pages / Visuals / Bookmarks), export.Customise — Power BI

Defaults: company info, header & footer

Many of the wizard fields you'll touch on each export — company name, logo, and header / footer / center-footer text — can be set once in the desktop app's Settings tab. Those defaults pre-fill the wizard for every new file, and you can still override them per-document.

Supported export formats

All three flows end at the same set of export formats:

  • Microsoft Word (.docx) — editable in any word processor.
  • Portable Document (PDF) — best for sharing, print, and email.
  • Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) — section-by-section tables for analysis.
  • Web HTML — publish to an intranet or cloud.
  • CSV — feed the metadata into other tools.
Where to find what each section contains
These customisation pages document only the wizard UI — they tell you what you can toggle, reorder, or rename. To see what each section actually documents in the output, read What Gets Extracted (Tableau) and What Gets Extracted (Power BI), or browse a complete example in Tableau Sample Output and Power BI Sample Output.
