  1. Run the installer and follow the prompts.
  2. Launch RapidDox from the Start Menu (Windows) or Applications folder (macOS).
  3. Sign in with the email and password used when purchasing.
Licence validation requires internet
RapidDox contacts app.rapidlens.com on startup. If behind a firewall, whitelist app.rapidlens.com — the app will not start without a successful licence check.

Opening BI Files

Use Open File or drag-and-drop to load a file. Supported:

  • Tableau: .twb .twbx .tds .tdsx .tfl .tflx
  • Power BI: .pbix .pbit

Generating Documentation

  1. Open the BI file in RapidDox.
  2. Select the output format (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, or HTML).
  3. Choose the output folder.
  4. Click Generate.

The output file is named after the source file — for example, Sales Dashboard.twbx produces Sales Dashboard Documentation.pdf in the output folder.

Keeping the App Updated

RapidDox shows a clear in-app message whenever a new update is available.

  • Minor updates — installed automatically.
  • Major updates — download the new installer from the customer portal at app.rapidlens.com and run it over the existing installation to update.
